This webinar will present the basics of the low FODMAP diet for nutrition professionals and clients, and then focus on new scientific evidence and medical uses of the diet as nutrition therapy.

Speaker: Amy Burkhart, MD, RD
About Our Speaker:
Amy Burkhart MD, RD is a board certified Emergency Medicine Physician and a Registered Dietitian. She completed a fellowship in Integrative medicine with Dr. Andrew Weil at the University of Arizona. She has an integrative medicine practice and specializes in treating digestive ailments such as IBS, FODMAP intolerance, celiac disease and gluten sensitivity. She uses traditional therapies in combination with nutrition, exercise, stress reduction and mind-body techniques to most optimally treat her patients. Dr. Burkhart completed medical school at the University of California, Irvine, and did her residency training at Highland Hospital/UCSF in San Francisco. She did her undergraduate work in clinical nutrition and completed a dietetic internship at UC Berkeley. Dr. Burkhart is a board member for the Celiac Community Foundation of Northern California and has educated physicians, dietitians and the general public about digestive health since 2008.
